Rules

§1 Names:
  • Player, Family and Shop names which are offending, racist, political or religious references, harassing or references to illegal activities are Forbidden.
  • Using the names of Gates of Andaron staff is forbidden and the character will be deleted immediately without warning.
  • Shop Names with senseless letter constellation are forbidden. Players
    will be kicked from the servers. If use of letter constellations is
    continued players will be temporarily banned
  • Shop names not using the official game laguage or english are forbidden.

§2 Behaviour:
  • Please be gentle to other players and don't insult them. Threatening or blackmailing other players is not allowed.
  • If you think someone is violating the rules, please contact a GM.The claim
    must be provable with an unmodified screenshot, so we can assess the
    situation correctly.
  • Not every insult is the same. Some people are more easily offended than
    others. We will judge from case to case and take actions accordingly.
  • Forcing other players to do something they don't want to do is not allowed and will be punished with a permanent ban.

§2a Real Life Threats
  • Threatening
    other players,     Gates of Andaron-teammembers, GameForge officials or other people
    is strictly forbidden. Doing it anyways will result in a systemwide
    ban, not only for     Gates of Andaron. Legal actions might be taken.

§2b Behaviour while trading
  • Fraud is not allowed and will be punished.
  • Asking for Items, Money or other from staff continuously can and will be punished.
  • There will be no refund for items lost by fraud.

§2c "Grief Play"
  • "Grief Play" -
    Actions which have only the intention to ruin the game for others are
    not desired. I.e. pulling a monster just to kill another player,
    pulling low-level monsters and hindering low-level players progress in
    the game.
  • Spawncamping: Continous killing of players at the respawn point (corpse or shrine) is not allowed.

§2d New Users
  • Do not laugh about or tease new players and do not deceive them just
    because they don't know everything. We were all new players once.
    Instead: try to help them.
  • A trade between a low-level player and a high-level player should be fair
    for both players, not biased toward the higher level player.

§2e Territory Occupation
  • In a timewindow of 1.5 hours around the territory occupation
    (i.e. if territory occupation is between 19:30 and 20:00 then the
    timewindow will be 19:00 - 20:30) spawncamping is allowed for tactical reasons (§2c will not be applied in this time)

§3 Ingame-Chat
  • The official language on the servers, boards and the official Gates of Andaron-Channels in IRC is the local language.
  • For ingame-notes and family-texts the only allowed language is the local language.
  • Please mind your language. Do not use vulgar terms/slang, even when not directly offending. It may be punished.
  • English is tolerated

§3a Spam
  • Do not spam! Continuous sending of the same messages is not allowed.
  • Posting links not affiliated with Gates of Andaron is also forbidden.
  • Posting information about cheats, hacks, bots or anything similar is not allowed and will be punished.
  • Advertisements for other websites which are not part of the official Gates of Andaron websites are also forbidden.

§4 Abusing Bugs
  • Players finding bugs are advised to report these bugs directly to the Gates of Andaron-team either by ticket-system, IRC or on the board.
  • Players taking advantage of bugs are risking an account ban.
  • Entering areas which are out of bounds is stricly forbidden.

§5 Manipulation / Scripting
  • Manipulation of the Gates of Andaron-Client is not allowed. Players using software not published
    by GameForge 4D GmbH will loose the account.
  • Using software to control the game (macros, Logitech G series keyboards,
    etc.) Is not allowed and will result in a permanent ban.

§5a AFK Leveling
  • Leveling while not actively involved in playing, i.e. with the pet summoners have, is considered cheating and can be punished.
§5b Multiboxing
  • Starting more that one instance of the Gates of Andaron client on one computer is forbidden.
  • Every player found using more than one client will be banned permanently.
§6 Credentials
  • Every
    player has to keep his credentials as a secret. It is not allowed to pass these credentials to other people. There will be no refund for carelessness.
  • Please choose a long, complex and secure password for optimal security.
  • The Gates of Andaron-Team will never ask for your password.
§6a Exchange of accounts
  • An accountexchange has first to be announced via the ticketsystem and will be handled by the Gates of Andaron-gameteam
  • If an account is offered ingame without a former announcement via the ticketsystem, the account will be closed without warning.
  • There will be no refunds (characters, items) for disadvantages caused by an exchange of accounts.
§7 Interaction with gamemasters
  • Instructions and decisions of the Gates of Andaron-team have to be respected and followed
  • Gamemasters are not to be attacked (except with the consent of the specific gamemaster)
  • Gamemasters
    are not allowed to give players gold or items. Gamemasters will not
    help you gaining levels and they will not spawn monsters for you. Don't
    invite gamemasters into your guild or party. If you have any questions
    use the board or ask other players.
  • Complaints about sanctions
    (i.e. bans) are to be discussed via the ticketsystem or with the
    gamemaster who issued the sanctioning directly.
  • Public discussion of sactions is forbidden.
  • If
    you disagree with a punishment please contact the next higher instance.
    That could be a super-gamemaster, gameadmin, team manager or the
    community manager.
Team-Members will use the follwing infront of their nicks:
  • [TGM]
  • [GM]
  • [SGM]
  • [GA]
  • [TM]
  • [CM]
Players not using these or in changed form are not members of the gameteam.

§8 Events
  • Instructions of the gameteam have to be obeyed.
    Not obeying instructions of the gameteam can result in the exclusion from the event or in a ban.
  • Do not bother the team members currently organizing an event.
  • Protests are to be made via the ticketsystem
  • Asking for prizes is strictly forbidden.
§9 Multiaccounts
  • Users are allowed to have and use more than one account.
  • Should one of the accounts be banned permanently, all other accounts can be banned, too.
§10 Fansites
  • If
    you want to create a fansite of the game and use the graphics from the
    official website, you have to ask the the community manager for
    permission to use these graphics.
  • Please use the ticketsystem to ask for permission.
§11 Penalties
Violations of these rules can result in the following:
  • a warning
  • ban of an account - temporarily or permanent. This depends on the severity of the violation.
  • To circumvent penalties will result in a 30-day ban.
Please be advised that the Gates of Andaron-Team can punish players even without violating one of these rules.

These rules are subject to change, if the Gates of Andaron-Team sees fit.
