Hey, i figured id update, for any of you interested. Heres the latest version of the upgrading guide.


WARNING, THERE IS NO GUARENTEE YOU WILL GET THE ITEM YOUR AIMING FOR . (READ "FAQ AND HELP" AT THE BOTTOM FOR DETAILS ON HOW MUCH AN ITEM COULD COST

First you will need a target to upgrade, make sure its got decent options so u can use it at a higher lvl.
Minimum options
Two Handed melee (inc bows):
+30 attack rate
+9 crit rate
+8 speed/long range speed

One Handed sword:
+25 attack rate
+9 crit rate
+8 speed

Short sword
+6 attack rate
+10 crit
+8 speed

Rod
+60 magic attack class
+20 magic crit rate
+11 magic rate
+8 damage

shield
+10 Block Rate
+5 magic/def-rate

Armor: Def-Rate/Magic Def-rate
Chest- 6/3
Legs- 5/3
Helmet- 4/2
Gloves- 1/1
Boots- 2/2


ok now assuming u have +0 with the options above.

first of all putting a survival tincture on at all times is important, you wont waste any ms if it succeeds.

Items
Survival tincture (ST in guide)
masters formula (ms item)
Seren pot
Scroll of reflection
apprentice formula

Step 1
Target number +8
You can go to +5 using normal apprentice formulas, this will save the masters.

Next you need to put a seren pot on, and use a masters formula to upgrade it, the target is +8. if ur upgrade works and it hits +8 good go to step 2, if the item goes to +6 do the same again, make sure survival tincture is on and seren pot and use a masters formula, same if its on +7. if the item goes to +9 use a scroll of reflection to make it +8 if it goes to +10 from +7 skip to Step 3.

Step 2
Target number +10
Your item is on +8, then next target is +10, to do this simply use a masters formula with a seren pot make sure ST is on as always. If the item goes to +10 Good, skip to step 3. if the item goes to +11 skip to Step 3 part B. if the item goes to +9 you will need to use a scroll of relection to +8, and do the same thing again.

Step 3
Part A.
Target number +13
Ok ur item is on +10 this is a great number for upgrading, so put a seren pot on and make sure ST is on. after upgrading with masters formula from +10. if it goes +11 skip to Part B, If it goes to +12 use a scroll of reflection and skip to Part B, If the item goes +13 good! skip to Step 4.

Part B
Ok now the choise is yours, You can either try your luck from +11 (its what i do) or you can use a scroll of relection to +10 and repeat part A until you get +13. if you choose to try from +11, there is more chance the item will go to +13/14, if it goes +14 relfect and go to step 4. if u choose to upgrade from +10, it may take a few tries to get +13. its your choise.

Step 4
Target number +15
This is where it can get annoying and difficult, but you got this far, keep it up.
Ok so u now have a +13 item... decent but nothing special. if your running out of ms STOP and wait for more ms before u continue.
in my experiance upgrading on +13 is a 50% success. So lets start by making sure seren pot and ST are on, use a masters formula to upgrade your item if it succeeds and goes to +15 Skip to step 5, If it succeeds and goes to +14 use a scroll of reflection and start step 4 again. if it fails and stays +13 start step 4 again, if it fails and goes below +13 your gonna have to use scroll of relection to make it +11 or +10, and start step 3 again. If the item succeeds and goes to +16, you have a choise. you can either stop and have a nice golden effect with decent stats, or you can try your luck and go for a higher number. if you want a higher number use a scroll of reflection to make it +15.

Step 5
Target number +17
ok at this point you have a +15 item, once again if your low on ms STOP and wait for more. if your feeling lucky, carry on through the guide.
ok as always make sure ST and and seren pot are on. use a masters formula to upgrade the item. if it succeeds and goes to +17 congratulations skip to step 6 if it succeeds and goes to +16 use a scroll of reflection and start step 6 again. if it fails and goes below +15 make the item +13 with scroll of reflection and start step 4 again. If the item succeeds and goes to +18 you can either choose to stop (most players stop here) it will also have a nice effect (ice,ocean, poison, electric, lava), OR you can choose to go further and go for +20 it can be tricky, if your unsure stop and ask for advice. if you choose to carry on use a scroll of reflection to make the item +17.

Step 6
Target number +20
ok now you can hear ur heart beat, make sure ST and seren potions are on and use a masters formula to upgrade your item, if the item succeeds and goes to +18 use a scroll of reflection and start the step again, if the item succeeds and goes to +19 LEAVE IT THERE, if the item succeeds and goes to +20 congratulations! you have completed my guide.if the item fails and goes below +17, im affraid you will have to use scroll of reflection to +15, and start step 5 again.

i hope this guide will help, its how i do things. and questions please ask, be aware the numbers i have given are the luckiest, try other numbers at ur own peril. guide to +24 will be added if and when i get it .

FAQ + Help

Stats success (in my experiance)- with seren pot on
upgrading from +8 95%
upgrading from +10 90%
upgrading from +11 60% (some people disagree)
upgrading from +13 50%
upgrading from +15 40%
upgrading from +17 30%

OK, so on average how much will the item cost you. In my experiance
+11 this is the end result for alot of items on a bad day, if you were aiming for this, you can easily get a set of +11 items usuing STEP 1 and STEP 2, this should cost about 100ms for 5 items.

+13 This is enough to fit in with the advance players.... but still, nothing special. This will cost you around 75ms for One item.

+16 This is enough for anyone who just wants to lvl, it has a nice golden effect, and should cost around 150ms to make.

+18 This is more than enough to pvp, and lvl in, but this one should cost you from a range of 200ms-400ms

+20 This is a great number, most sane people would stop now, usually this could cost from a range of 500ms-1000ms


What upgrade is good, when should you stop

lvl 34-40
around these lvls its average to have +11-13 items, unless you have a high level alt, these items will rep you fast and get you into the next stage.

lvl 41-60
most people around these levels, have a range of +13-16 items, this is what you should aim for. items like this will soon get you to the next stage.

lvl 61-76
most people on these levels use +17-18 gear all around, a player might have 1 +20 item....

How common is the item at a certain level (ms users)
+11 100% of people have 1 or more
+13 90% of people have 1 or more
+16 80% of people have 1 or more
+18 65% of people have 1 or more
+20 15% of people have 1 or more
+21 3% of people have 1 or more
+22 2% of people have 1 or more
+23 1% of people have 1 or more
+24 0% of people have 1 or more
